Our pediatric cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery teams—part of Cohen Children's Heart Center—meet weekly, and when necessary, daily, to discuss cases and develop custom care plans for all our pediatric cardiology patients. This means your child will get individualized attention from a multidisciplinary team of pediatric cardiovascular surgeons and cardiac internists to ensure he or she receives the most appropriate treatment plan.

• A pediatric cardiac intensive care unit (CICU), where pediatric intensive care doctors, neonatologists, cardiologists and cardiac surgeons work together to optimize outcomes. We offer the only extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) procedure in Long Island, Queens, Brooklyn and Staten Island—providing life-sustaining support for heart or lung issues from neonatal patients to patients with congenital heart problems.
• A dedicated diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization laboratory, which is dedicated exclusively to diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions in infants, children, teenagers and young adults. Our lab offers the lowest-dose radiation commercially available, leading to a substantial reduction in radiation exposure for your children and our staff.
• An electrophysiology laboratory, the only one on Long Island, where pediatric electrophysiologists are specifically trained to perform ablations and other invasive electrophysiologic procedures in children. We are also one of four locations in the region, and the only one on Long Island, qualified to implant percutaneous valves, including the Melody™ valve. Additionally, we have created a new hybrid program combining catheter-based technology and surgery, enabling our cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons to repair our patients’ hearts collaboratively.
