Advanced surgery

We especially excel at minimally invasive surgery, and we have the most sophisticated and experienced pediatric urology surgical team in the tristate area.  Our skilled team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and technicians is specially trained in laparoscopic and robotic surgery, and we offer the state-of-the-art da Vinci® system.

During robotic surgery, the surgeon uses the assistance of a robot to operate on the patient through tiny holes (ports) instead of a large open incision. A camera is placed through one of these ports. Sitting at the console of the robot, the surgeon sees vital anatomical structures with 3D high-definition clarity magnified six times their normal size. This enhanced clarity allows for a more precise procedure.

Compared to traditional open surgical procedures, the da Vinci® robotic surgery system results in exceptional benefits for children and adolescents, including:

  • Smaller incisions
  • Minimized blood loss
  • Optimal recovery
  • Quick return to normal diet
  • Fewer complications
  • Less pain than open surgery
  • Shorter length of stay in hospital
  • Reduced appearance of scarring
  • Faster return to normal daily activities
