Pediatric Nursing Education Department
Our Nursing Education Department is made up of advanced registered nurses with a unique combination of clinical expertise and creative energies. Our dedicated educators help keep the nursing staff up to date on the most recent research and proven clinical techniques through a simulation, scenario-based orientation process (with preceptor support), as well as complex interdisciplinary educational programs.
Educators are available from each pediatric nursing specialty, including:
- Pediatric intensive and emergency care
- Neonatal intensive care
- Pediatric hematology/oncology
- Bone marrow transplant
- Acute care pediatrics
Pediatric nursing staff
Our highly trained nursing staff includes registered nurses, nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, infection control nurses, nurse assistants, nursing case managers and more. Nurses and support staff care for more than 9,000 pediatric inpatient discharges annually in more than eight subspecialty units.
Additionally, they are paramount in the provision of care in more than 30 outpatient and pediatric specialty practices, including community consultation centers, urgent care facilities and public schools. They also coordinate and care for close to 3,000 patients being transported from area hospitals.
